Evan McPherson continues to impress

It looks like the Bengals have finally found their kicker.

The Cincinnati Bengals fell short in their second preseason game, as they lost to the Washington Football Team 17-13.

While the Bengals’ offense struggled most of the night, with Brandon Allen getting the Bengals’ lone touchdown on a 1-yard rush, there was still a bright spot in the scoring column.

Rookie kicker Evan McPherson has a monster leg, and he is continuing to impress through two preseason games.

In the preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, McPherson had two field-goal opportunities, one from 40 yards and one from 31 yards. The rookie came in and drilled both kicks helping the Bengals get the 19-14 win.

Back to Friday night against Washington, McPherson had two more opportunities and once again drilled both of them.

One of which was from 37 yards and the second was a long 50-yarder that would have been good from even further back.

As McPherson continues to impress, the Bengals spending a 5th-round pick on the former Florida Gator is looking more and more like the correct move.

The Bengals will be in action again for their final preseason game on Sunday August 29th when they face the Miami Dolphins in Paul Brown Stadium. That game will kickoff at 4:00 pm ET and will air on CBS.
