Camp Notebook: Bengals Chidobe Awuzie enjoys a strong start to training camp
Which in this training camp means that No. 22 was all over the place. Two plays stood out Sunday. Awuzie wrapped up rookie running back Chris Evans on a screen when he diagnosed it almost as quickly as the stop. And he was in on a third-down coverage sack when quarterback Joe Burrow had to hold the ball.

Quick Hits: Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will not play in the preseason opener at Tampa Bay
No big surprise when before Sunday's practice Bengals head coach Zac Taylor ruled quarterback Joe Burrow out of Saturday's preseason opener (7:30 p.m.-Cincinnati's Channel 12) in Tampa. And no decision if he'll play in the other two preseason games.

Camp Notebook: Joe Burrow rebounds in Bengals training camp with a stellar day
The drive was helped along by a third-down penalty flag dropped by a member of referee Ron Torbert's crew working practice this week that called pass interference on strong safety Vonn Bell working against slot receiver Tyler Boyd. But the drive had to overcome a holding call on right guard Michael Jordan.

Cincinnati Bengals Notes: Offensive Line Shuffle, Ja'Marr Chase's Pushups and a Kicking Competition
“My first interaction was at the Senior Bowl during that 18-minute meeting with him where he was really impressive,” Taylor added. “One of the things he laid out to you back then was his weight progression and what his goals were for his weight — and I still have my notes — he has hit every single weight progression he gave us for the season; the Senior Bowl, the combine, reporting for NFL, reporting for training camp, bam, he hit all of them. And so that just tells you he’s got that pro mentality.”

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Auden Tate Receives Praise: He's a 'Monster in a Room Full of Big People'
The Bengals have one of the best wide receiver rooms in the NFL. Their trio of Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd and Ja'Marr Chase has a chance to be dominant this season.

“But at the end of the day it’s not my decision and I don’t get paid to make that decision. I get paid to play quarterback,” Burrow said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.

Bengals stock report: 10 risers (Chidobe Awuzie!) and fallers (Ja'Marr Chase?) through 10 practices
This list of risers and fallers doesn’t necessarily mean somebody will jump to making the team or fall from starter to the streets. This is strictly about the players who helped or hurt themselves relative to their initial standing over the first 10 practices.

Peyton Manning enters Hall of Fame focused on furthering football: 'I'm not done with this game'
It was impossible to not witness Manning's true love and appreciation for the sport that made him a legend. Beyond the expressions of gratitude to those who helped him on his journey, Manning's prevailing message was an impassioned one: His place in the game's history is cemented -- bronzed, if you will -- but he's just as focused on nurturing football's future as he was dedicated to obsessively preparing to dice up his next opponent.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley to come off PUP list, practice Monday
The Giants hoped to get the star back on the field in early August, but some reluctant comments from Barkley and the club when camp opened gave the indication his timeline could be pushed. Rapoport noted last week that the Giants pegged anytime between Week 1 and 3 for a Barkley return.

Ron Rivera: 'No timetable' for Curtis Samuel's return in Washington
Samuel continues to deal with a groin injury that popped up earlier this offseason and landed him on the PUP list to start camp. The wideout has also been on the reserve/COVID-19 list, complicating the matter. Samuel was spotted at practice, indicating he's close to coming off the COVID-19 list soon.

NFL roundup: Latest training camp news from Monday, Aug. 9
While Stanley started training camp on the PUP list, the Ravens always targeted a return in time for Week 1. Getting him back on the practice field even before the first preseason game gives plenty of time for Baltimore to ramp up his workload ahead of the season. We don't expect him to participate much, if at all, in preseason action, and Baltimore will be cautious with his practice reps, but a return in early August is an excellent sign for the former first-team All-Pro blocker.

Pete Carroll acknowledges Duane Brown is 'making a statement' about contract: 'We're working at it'
"We're working at it..." Carroll told Pelissero. "Duane is really an important player for us on the offensive side of the ball. And we know how to work with him and make sure he's ready to play. He's making a statement right now. We're working with him. He's going through walkthroughs and all, so we know he'll be ready to play. He would not be practicing a lot at this time (anyway), so we'll try to work our way through it and make sure we can put this thing together."
