Why the FOURTH SEED is the most advantageous for the Bengals

REASON ONE: Rest starters at Cleveland

Even if KC loses to Denver on Saturday, the Titans aren’t likely to lose to the Texans. Take this week and rest as many impact players as possible and really just get through this nonsense game with Cleveland. Obviously, taking this route you ensure that Burrow goes into the playoffs healthy. You can also rest guys like Mixon, Chase, Williams, Hendrickson, Reader, Wilson, Chido, etc. while giving our backup QB reps and get some guys like Shelvin on the field. All that really matters this week is that we come out as close to full strength as possible.

REASON TWO: We most likely will play NE in Round One

I know some fans will wither at the thought of going against Bill Belichick in the playoffs, but these are likely the same fans that thought the season was over after the loss v. Cleveland and were ready to concede the division. My point then was my point now, with Burrow we can beat anyone. So let’s look at that Pats. Mac Jones is a game manager at this point. He and the Pats non-explosive skill guys are not going to be able to go toe-to-toe with Burrow and our dudes. Yes, NE has a great defense and can get to the QB. However, what has Belichick’s M.O. been? It has been to take away the opposition’s primary weapon or what they like to do. So if NE is playing Indy they’re going to game plan to takeaway Jonathan Taylor. If they’re playing KC maybe it is to neutralize Kelce. But what about the Bengals? You want to take away Chase? Fine, we’ll beat you with Higgins, Boyd, and Mixon. That was the beauty of adding Chase, and it’s getting to be a cliché but this is a pick your poison scenario. Plus, as smart as the Pats are Burrow’s processing is just off the charts and he is seeing everything so clearly. Look back to the CFB championship against Clemson. They actually had a brilliant defensive gameplan that did throw LSU and Burrow off for a minute, but he quickly figured it out and exploited it. Bottom-line, yes I have a ton of respect for NE but I don’t think as well coached as they are that they can contain us right now with the way our offense is humming and I don’t think they are capable of winning a shootout. They just don’t have the firepower on offense.

REASON THREE: I’d rather play Tennessee in Round Two than KC or Buffalo

Of the top three seeds, I think Tennessee is the best matchup for us. Look, we all know we can beat KC, but they’re still the most formidable team in the AFC. If we’re the four seed, Tenn is the likely one (assuming they put away the Texans). That makes KC the two who will likely play the three seed – Buffalo – in round two assuming both teams advance. That would set up for the most likely scenario being an AFC championship in Arrowhead or in Buffalo…and like I said before, with Burrow playing at this level we can beat anyone, anywhere.

This team rules.
