The Cincinnati Bengals have officially placed quarterback Joe Burrow on injured reserve, the team announced Saturday.
Burrow, a fourth-year player, suffered a right wrist injury in the team’s Week 11 game vs. the Baltimore Ravens. He is expected to miss the rest of the season, even if the Bengals make the NFL Playoffs.
With Burrow on IR, the Bengals have elevated AJ McCarron from the practice squad to the active roster for their Week 12 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. McCarron is classified as a standard elevation.
As a practice squad player being elevated to the active roster for the game, he automatically will revert to the practice squad on Monday, though we should expect him to be signed to the 53-man roster in the coming weeks.
Finally, the Bengals returned running back Chase Brown to the active roster from IR. Brown had been on IR since October 28th due to a hamstring injury. He was designated for return from IR and cleared to practice on Monday.
