Twitter reactions to Bengals’ disgusting loss to Steelers

No Joe Burrow was rough to watch, but Jake Browning was far from Cincinnati’s biggest problem.

Joe Burrow is one of the greatest quarterbacks in the league. But unlike some of the other players at the top, he is, arguably, the system itself.

So it shouldn’t be a surprise that the Cincinnati Bengals’ offense struggled mightily against a team that wrecked their offensive line even before they were forced to play Jake Browning.

Rather, the tough part to accept about Cincinnati’s 16-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers is the showing by the defense.

In the Steelers’ first game since the firing of offensive coordinator Matt Canada, the Bengals’ AFC North rivals finally got going.

Needless to say, Bengals fans were not pleased.

Many were also frustrated with head coach Zac Taylor’s play-calling, more specifically, his reluctance to pound the rock and try to get the running game going to take pressure off a QB making his first career start.

In a way, the loss highlighted long-persisting issues with Cincinnati’s offensive system.

Now, some are calling for big changes, including on the coaching staff.

Browning and the Bengals offense will get another chance to prove they can function without Burrow next Sunday when Cincinnati faces the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road.
