Jefferson, who had been sidelined since Week 5 with a hamstring injury, made his return last week in the Vikings’ 3-0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. However, he suffered a chest injury in the first half that knocked him out for the remainder of the game.
Thankfully, it didn’t turn out to be anything serious, as Jefferson says he will play this Saturday vs. the Bengals.
Jefferson was listed as a limited participant for Tuesday’s estimated practice report.
Justin Jefferson said he was taken to the hospital on Sunday for tests to rule out internal bleeding and broken ribs. It ended up just being a bruise, he said. He expects he’ll be good to go on Saturday against the Bengals.— Ben Goessling (@BenGoessling) December 13, 2023
This will be a reunion for several former LSU Tigers, as Jefferson, Joe Burrow, and Ja’Marr Chase were part of the 2019 national championship-winning Tiger squad.
For the season, Jefferson has 38 catches for 598 yards (15.7 avg) and three touchdowns. When he last faced the Bengals in the 2021 opener, Jefferson hauled in five catches on nine targets for 71 yards.
