Big Ben Roethlisberger’s time could only be described as enormously successful. Multiple Super Bowl trips, no losing seasons, and an incredibly consistent offense paired with a good defense.
Now, however, he said on his podcast that he does not see the same intensity that he saw when he played, especially on the offensive side.
He even goes as far as to call out the coaching, which is a tad surprising considering the long career he had under Mike Tomlin and the success they found together. However, without Big Ben, the offense has seemingly struggled to find a leader to galvanize the team, especially with the big personalities they have at wide receiver.
Despite currently being in the driver's seat to earn a playoff spot, the current iteration of this Steelers team feels the weakest it has in a while. Even if Kenny Pickett comes back, the offense lacks a clear identity, and the Steelers will have to lay well to avoid Mike Tomlin’s first losing season.
Hopefully, the Bengals aid in that in Week 16.
