Thursday Night Football has a matchup between two NFC teams in the thick of the NFC Wildcard race, as the Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints both enter this game at 7-7.

The Rams are currently the seventh seed, and the Saints are on the outside looking in. They also have the added opportunity of winning their division with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers also only at (7-7) currently leading the NFC South.

The Rams were supposed to be in a major rebuild mode. They lost a number of big free agents in an attempt to fix their cap situation, and they didn’t have many premium draft picks to supplement those losses, but here they are. Los Angeles may have found the Rookie of the Year in Puka Nacua at wide receiver. He has 87 catches for 1,163 yards and four touchdowns. A player they found with their fourth selection in the fifth round.

The Saints may have intended to try and run back what they thought was a good team held back by poor quarterback play and injuries last year. They went out and signed Derek Carr, but the marriage hasn’t worked out.

However, he has five touchdowns and only one interception in his last two games. The defense also held both of those opponents to only six points. They will have to play well again if they want to take this important win late in the season.

Here is who our staff is taking.

This will also be tonight’s open thread, so come join the fun!
