The Cincinnati Bengals (+7) are heading into Week 17 with an 8-7 record, winning three of their last four games, and still very much alive in the playoff picture.

They are currently “in the hunt” in the AFC, sitting in the tenth spot. Ahead of them are the Steelers and Texans, two teams who have beaten them, and they’re just ahead of the Raiders and Broncos.

The Bengals are heading to Kansas City to face the Chiefs, who are favored at home by a touchdown and are currently the No. 3 seed in the AFC with a 9-6 record. However, they’ve lost three of their last four games, including a Christmas home defeat to the Raiders.

The offense, once the most feared in the NFL, has lost some of its teeth, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes hasn’t been able to be on the same page with his receivers, including future Hall of Fame tight end Travis Kelce.

This game is crucial for both teams. The Bengals, having lost their Week 15 game against the lowly Steelers, have to win this game to keep their playoff hopes alive. Losing could be a death blow to their postseason dreams.

The Chiefs, on the other hand, are still leading their division, but they really need to stop the bleeding with the NFL Playoffs drawing near. Right now they look like a team that will get bounced out in the first round, and they’re looking to get back on track. They also have not locked their spot for the playoffs yet, as the Broncos and Raiders are still mathematically alive to win the AFC West.

Bengals backup quarterback Jake Browning will hopefully have Ja’Marr Chase back after he missed Week 15 with a shoulder injury. Defensively they’ll have to step up their game. They let Mason Rudolph pass for 290 yards, 195 of which went to George Pickens.

The Chiefs, are looking to get anything going on offense. They haven’t scored 20 or more points since Week 12, and the team they are today doesn’t resemble the team they were earlier this season at all.

The Bengals definitely have more to lose, for sure, but the Chiefs aren’t rolling over either. Which team will bounce back in Week 17?
