Both of these teams have clinched their spot in the playoffs. However, they still have plenty to play for. The Lions are one of three other (11-4) NFC teams battling for that No. 1 seed. The Cowboys are (10-5) with hopes of catching the Philadelphia Eagles for the NFC East.
Both of these teams have pretty well-oiled offenses. Jared Goff has almost 4,000 passing yards, 27 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, and Dak Prescott has almost 3,900 passing yards, 30 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Both teams have a wide receiver with over 100 catches and 1,000 yards on the season already (CeeDee Lamb and Amon-Ra St. Brown). The Cowboys are second in the NFL with 30.1 points per game, and the Lions aren’t behind with 27.5 points per game. That is good for fifth in the NFL.
Dallas is backing into this one, losing two straight after defeating the Eagles in Week 14. Meanwhile, Detroit has won their last two games to try and carry some momentum into the playoffs. To be fair, the Lions’ last two games were against the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills, while the Lions faced the Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings. Still, wins are wins.
Something also has to give, as the Cowboys are 7-0 at home this season, and the Lions are 6-2 on the road. Can the Lions keep their streak going and make a statement against the Cowboys?
Here are the staff’s picks.
