The Cincinnati Bengals have officially announced their candidate for the 2023 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.

Bengals center Ted Karras will join others from around the league as a nomination for the award.

The award is the league's most prestigious honor and goes to the NFL player who goes above and beyond to have a positive impact on the community outside of football.

Karras began his popular company back in 2022 called “The Cincy Hat,” which has generated over $325,000 to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

“I’m truly honored,” said Karras. “I’m so grateful to be a part of Village of Merici and grateful to everyone in the Cincinnati community. I can’t believe how this project turned into something like this. What a very humbling experience,” according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.

According to Hobson, Karras personally matched $100,000 in donations and hat orders to get Cincy Hat started.

Each team nominates one player each year, and no one is more deserving than Ted Karras.

He has been all around Cincinnati and other communities, doing what he can to make the world a better place, and you absolutely love to see it!
