Last week, backup quarterback Downtown Jake Brown (I think that’s the nickname we’re going with), lit up the Jacksonville Jaguars defense for over 350 yards in the Bengals’ shocking Monday Night Football victory.
The Bengals (6-6) are relatively healthy compared to a lot of other teams at this point in the season. They didn’t have a typical practice on Wednesday, opting instead for an indoor walkthrough, but a couple of names did pop up on the injury report worth keeping an eye on.
Sam Hubbard, Akeem Davis-Gaither, and BJ Hill all would have had rest days today, but both Jonah Williams (back) and rookie running back Chase Brown (hamstring) showed up as limited. Williams has had a solid season so far at right tackle, and considering the entire offensive line had their best showing on Monday night, hopefully he’s able to go Sunday.
Brown had an exciting game on Monday, finally getting involved in the offense. He paid the Bengals back by earning 61 yards on just nine carries. Hamstring injuries can be tricky and nagging. Hopefully, he’s just a little tight and is good to go by this weekend.
The Colts were without running back Jonathan Taylor, linebacker E.J. Speed, tackle Braden Smith, and cornerback Juju Brents on Wednesday. DeForest Buckner and Tyquan Lewis practiced in full, and Grover Stewart rejoined the team off his suspension as well.
With today's walk-through, Wednesday's practice report is only an estimation of a player's participation if there was a practice. pic.twitter.com/wZWVKUeeZD— Indianapolis Colts (@Colts) December 6, 2023
Stay tuned for more on Williams and Brown’s health as the week progresses.
