Tanner Hudson playing at elite level since Week 8, per PFF

Have the Cincinnati Bengals found their tight end of the future?

It sure seems like it.

According to Pro Football Focus, Tanner Hudson is the third-best among all NFL tight ends in yards per route run (2.57) since Week 8.

He now has a PFF score of 75.5 for the season. Of course, he’s still just 32nd in targets for his position, but that’s because he only had six targets before Week 9, when he broke out with five receptions for 45 yards against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football.

The 29-year-old tight end has now caught 26 of his 31 targets for 228 yards. While he has yet to score a touchdown, it seems to be only a matter of time before the gifted receiver finds the end zone.

Hudson might not be a gamebreaker, but his solid play is just yet another reason that backup quarterback Jake Browning has been able to transition so smoothly to the starting lineup.
