Were the 2023-24 Bengals a disappointment?

Cincinnati fell short of the playoffs but showed up in a lot of big moments.

The Cincinnati Bengals may have missed the playoffs in the 2023-24 season, but they certainly weren’t a bad team.

The Bengals won nine games despite ending up with the toughest schedule in the league.

And they did it with Joe Burrow not looking like himself until Week 5 and then missing the final seven games.

Heading into the season, no one thought Jake Browning was a viable option at QB. But somehow, the team won four games with him.

Some of the most memorable games were the blowout win over the San Francisco 49ers on the road, the Jake Browning coming out party against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football, and the Browning revenge game against the Minnesota Vikings.

The defense, despite giving up a ton of yards, had some huge moments and was the driving force behind wins over the Los Angeles Rams and the Seattle Seahawks.

As Zim Whodey points out in the video below, there was something special about this team, one that made winning plays at the right moment. That’s a good sign for a team that had been to back-to-back AFC Championships and looks to get to another one next year.
