The Cincinnati Bengals are set to play in their 2023 season finale against the Cleveland Browns. It appears Cincinnati could have most, if not its entire 53-man roster able to play Sunday at Paycor Stadium.
The only player to miss Wednesday’s practice was wide receiver Tee Higgins, who suffered a hamstring injury during the Week 17 loss in Kansas City. Higgins was able to return to the game after initially suffering the injury, so hopefully, he’ll be able to play this week in what may be the final game of his Bengals career.
Ja’Marr Chase was limited due to his lingering shoulder injury. However, Chase said he plans to play this week, according to Jake Browning.
CIN QB Jake Browning said he's seen teams play with bad effort w/ nothing on the line. Not the case in Cincy.— Ben Baby (@Ben_Baby) January 3, 2024
JB: "Just the fact that at the beginning of this week, Ja’Marr says, ‘No, I’m playing’ and everybody’s like, ‘Here we go, let’s lock in, let’s finish this thing right.’"
Chidobe Awuzie was limited by a shoulder injury of his own.
Finally, Jalen Davis was limited with a groin injury that led to him missing Week 17.
For the Browns, they’re likely to rest most of their key players this week, especially the ones who didn’t practice Wednesday. Those include wide receiver Amari Cooper, guard Joel Bitonio, running back Kareem Hunt, tight end David Njoku, center Ethan Pocic, and middle linebacker Anthony Walker.
