The Cincinnati Bengals have had a plethora of wealth over the last several seasons when it comes to wide receivers.

The team took Tee Higgins in the same draft as Joe Burrow and seemed elated when he fell to the first pick of the second round. The Bengals, given Burrow’s knee injury that season, were able to draft Ja’Marr Chase with the 5th-overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The duo has quickly become one of the best in the NFL, and each is individually among the best in the NFL. Pro Football Focus recently ranked the top 32 receivers in the NFL, and both were mentioned.

Chase came in at No. 3, and Higgins was No. 32.

“WR3 is perhaps the fiercest competition in the rankings, as several players have a good case. Ja’Marr Chase is still a devastating receiver and with his quarterback back this season, we’re about to be reminded,” Sam Monson wrote on Chase, who he ranked after Tyreek Hill and before CeeDee Lamb.

Monson then, numerous players after, wrote on Higgins, who he ranked No. 32, one of the Buccaneers’ Chris Godwin.

“When given the opportunity, Tee Higgins has shown he can be a No. 1 receiver even without Ja’Marr Chase in the lineup. Coming off a down year, Higgins will be eager to dominate in 2024 to hit free agency coming off his best play. A big, strong possession target, throwing at Higgins in his NFL career has generated a 111.2 passer rating,” he wrote.

Of note, Justin Jefferson sat atop the list. Stefon Diggs came in at No. 11 with Cooper Kupp at No. 9. Marvin Harrison Jr., who was drafted by the Cardinals in the first round, came in at No. 21.

That said, both Chase and Higgins have major decisions on the horizon with Higgins set to sign the franchise tag while seeking a long-term deal and Chase hopeful for a market-resetting extension.

The future is bright for the duo, even if they don’t stay in Cincinnati for their entire career.
