While Joe Burrow is getting back into the groove following his torn wrist ligament late in the 2023 season, he’s also been just as active off the field.

His foundation, the Joe Burrow Foundation, hosted a golf tournament with the hope to raise money for food insecurity, something Burrow has clearly had a passion for over the last few years.

It was recently announced that the event has brought in north of nine figures in proceeds for the cause.

“Organizers announced Monday that the sold-out event at The Golf Club at Stonelick Hills on May 31 raised $1.1 million to help combat food insecurity and provide mental health resources around the community,” WLWT’s Matthew Dietz wrote.

This isn’t some newfound passion of Burrow’s.

Having come from southeast Ohio, Burrow clearly had seen with his own eyes what food poverty and insecurity did to the region, and he wanted to do his best to bring attention and serve as an avenue for people to join in the fight.

Burrow’s acceptance speech when he joined the club with a Heisman trophy brought tears to the eyes of many as he first put the issues on a pedestal. He also designed the Joe Burrow Hunger Relief Fund to continue his drive for change in the region.
