Sometimes one award just isn't enough for a guy. After winning the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award on Wednesday, news broke that Jeremy Hill won another high-profile honor just a day later. Hill was voted as the FedEx Ground Player of the Week Award, per multiple sources.
With his win, FedEx will be donating $2,000 to the Cincinnati Red Cross. The other nominees for the award included Eddie Lacy of the Green Bay Packers and Marshawn Lynch of the Seattle Seahawks. Hill out-dueled those two in major statistical categories.
The Bengals' rookie back scampered for 148 yards and two touchdowns against the Browns. Those numbers made him just the second rookie back since Cadillac Williams to run for 140-plus yards in three games in their first season. If all goes well the rest of the season, Hill will surpass the 1,000-yard rushing mark and could push for double-digit rushing touchdowns.
