With the return of cornerback Leon Hall and defensive end Michael Johnson, the Bengals have returned to normalcy regarding their game-day deactivations on Sunday. Out against the Buffalo Bills are defensive end Margus Hunt, offensive tackle Tanner Hawkinson, running back Rex Burkhead, cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris, wide receiver Ryan Whalen, cornerback Brandon Ghee and offensive guard Mike Pollak.
Cincinnati's lineups should be relatively similar also, with Hall and Johnson resuming their starting gigs, which will force Adam Jones and Wallace Gilberry back to their respective roles as nickel players at cornerback and defensive tackle respectively (Gilberry generally becomes an inside rusher during passing downs).
As for the Bills, wide receiver Stevie Johnson is out after attending a funeral this week, along with dealing with a lower-back injury. Joining Johnson are quarterback E.J. Manuel, linebacker Ty Powell, defensive back Dustin Brooks, cornerback Justin Rogers, cornerback Brandon Burton, and offensive lineman Antoine McClain.
This means that cornerback Stephon Gilmore and safety Jairus Byrd will be active for the first time this season.
