Chances are that offensive guard Kevin Zeitler won't play this weekend against the San Diego Chargers -- well, they're as bleak as Thanksgiving travel plans to and around the East Coast. After having his foot rolled up in the fourth quarter against the Baltimore Ravens, Zeitler has missed every practice leading into Cincinnati's 41-20 win over the Cleveland Browns, and every sessionssince.
According to reports around Paul Brown Stadium, Zeitler was the only player not suited up to practice in the chilly Cincinnati weather on Wednesday.
James Harrison, who sat during Monday's session, returned, as have linebacker Rey Maualuga and defensive tackle Devon Still -- both of whom practiced on Monday (Maualuga actually practiced on the Friday leading into Cleveland). Still is wearing a padded brace on his elbow for the foreseeable future. Chris Crocker, who missed Browns week with a hamstring, practiced on Monday and the exclusion of any mention of him suggests he's practicing on Wednesday.
Using his weather-related vernacular to describe injury situations, Lewis appears cautiously optimistic.
"It’s a little chilly outside but it’s partly sunny. It’s cold, don’t let the cold fool you," Lewis said via the Enquirer. "We are about as good as you would hope to be at this point in the year. We got to feel blessed to that, knock on wood, to be where we are at this point in the season. That you have to feel pretty good about."
A comprehensive practice and injury report will be released later.
