Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict "tweaks" ankle and listed as questionable against the Chargers

Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict tweaked his ankle during Friday's practice and now he's listed as questionable for this weekend against the San Diego Chargers.

Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict hurt his ankle during practice on Friday, forcing the team to declare him as questionable this weekend against the San Diego Chargers. Burfict currently leads the team with 146 tackles (team number). Rey Maualuga will return this weekend, so if Burfict can't go, figure that Maualuga plays inside while Vincent Rey replaces Burfield as the weak-side linebacker.

The seriousness of the injury isn't fully known yet -- though multiple beat writers used the word "tweaked" -- but it's generating enough uncertainty for the Bengals to rule him as questionable. Perhaps even as a game-time decision to see how the ankle responds from now until the 4:25 p.m. (ET) kickoff in San Diego.

We could see the Bengals holding him out Sunday to rehabilitate as much as possible for the final four-game stretch to end the season. We could also see Burfict, being the tough competitor that he has, having nothing to do with that suggestion.

Kevin Zeitler, who missed every practice this week with a foot, has been ruled out while everyone else is listed as probable, including defensive tackle Devon Still, who has been out since week seven with a dislocated elbow.
