With the NFL Draft on the horizon, the Cincinnati Bengals waived linebacker L.J. Fort.
Fort was on Cincinnati’s practice squad for the last five games of 2014 and was signed this past January to the Cincinnati offseason roster. Fort has 17 games of NFL experience from terms with the Cleveland Browns and Seattle Seahawks in addition to a stint on the Denver Broncos' practice squad.
Fort spent the 2014 preseason with Denver, and in the regular season he has been on the roster and practice squad for Seattle. He played in one Seahawks game (Nov. 2 vs. Oakland) and was released from Seattle's practice squad on Nov. 11.
He played in 16 games for Cleveland in 2012 after signing as a college free agent, logging 13 tackles, one sack, one interception, three passes defensed and seven special teams tackles.
With this move coming on the day before the draft, it slightly increases the already-high odds that the Bengals draft at least one linebacker before the end of the weekend.
