After sitting out against the Miami Dolphins and extending that rest on Wednesday with a swollen knee, Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth returned to the field on Thursday. It's the first time that he's practiced since experiencing issues in his knee prior to the final drive in the first half against the New York Jets.
Backup tackle Anthony Collins started for Whitworth against the Miami Dolphins, scoring well as a pass blocker but struggling during run plays.
Tight end Jermaine Gresham was downgraded after being limited with a groin on Wednesday. Joining Gresham on the sidelines during Thursday's practice were linebacker Rey Maualuga (knee) and defensive tackle Devon Still (elbow).
Since there are no known updates regarding running back Giovani Bernard (ribs), linebacker Michael Boley (hamstring), and offensive guard Kevin Zeitler (hamstring), all of whom were limited on Wednesday, we're assuming that they're practicing as well.
