Bengals safety George Iloka returns to hometown Houston for the weekend

"It feels good to go back to Houston," Iloka said. "Last time, I saw some dude in the stands yelling and trying to get my attention. He was a high school teammate."

Cincinnati Bengals safety George Iloka is going home.

At least for the weekend.

Iloka is a graduate of Kempner High School, which resides in the city of Sugar Land, Texas and shares the same county lines as Houston -- making up the Greater Houston area.

The Fort Bend Star ran a nice story on Iloka, who was once a high school wide receiver before making the conversion to safety on the advice of his former head coach James Brown, as well as his teammate Chris Banjo, who plays for the Green Bay Packers.

"My coach said ‘you have the frame to make a decent NFL safety’," Iloka said.

Now Iloka is returning home.

"It feels good to go back to Houston," Iloka said. "Last time, I saw some dude in the stands yelling and trying to get my attention. He was a high school teammate. Another former teammate was working security at the game. Coming back to Houston brings back memories of where it all started."
