Andy Dalton nominated for FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week

Andy Dalton closed in on several personal records in a single-game against the Vikings and earned some league recognition for it.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton was nominated as one of three finalists for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week on Tuesday. Should we file that under the "shocking news" section?

Dalton completed 27 of 38 passes for 366 yards with four scores, no picks and a passer rating of 136.5, leading Cincinnati to their tenth win of the season and, indirectly, their first division title since 2009.

Joining Dalton is Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, who threw for 400 yards and scored four touchdowns against the Houston Texans. Manning also set the league's single-season touchdown record on this fourth touchdown, giving him 51 and surpassing Tom Brady's 50. Wonder how the Texans felt about the touchdown, despite Denver having total control of the game in the fourth quarter (but whatever).

Andrew Luck is the third nomination, who generated 241 yards passing and a scored a touchdown in Indianapolis' 23-7 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Remember, this is a fan poll, so help Dalton out.
