They're calling it precautionary.
When Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth left Paul Brown Stadium following Cincinnati's 34-17 win over the Baltimore Ravens, he was wearing a boot on his leg after rolling an ankle midway through the fourth quarter. According to Bengals.com, Whitworth should be ready for this weekend's Wild Card game against the San Diego Chargers.
However, he wasn't the only injury on the offensive line Sunday.
Starting center Kyle Cook suffered a foot injury during Dalton's second interception in the first quarter. It was a non-contact injury.
"Something popped just running," said Cook via Bengals.com. "I didn’t get hit at all."
According to reports, Cook will be undergoing tests Sunday night and Monday morning to determine the severity of the injury.
Offensive tackle Anthony Collins sprained his ankle in the first half, but gutted it out after taking some time off and then rotated in until the the fourth quarter when Whitworth was forced out.
"It's another testament to how great this group has been this year," Whitworth said. "You talk about unsung heroes of the year. What guy hasn't stepped in, played well, and done the job? It's been impressive."
When the Bengals play again weekend, the offensive line will be recovering from injury but Whitworth told Bengals.com that he feels that the starters will go. And it's believed that Jermaine Gresham and Tyler Eifert will return after taking Sunday off with a hamstring and neck injury respectively.
