Bengals OG Kevin Zeitler on crutches

Cincinnati's starting right guard suffered a injury during Giovani Bernard's four-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter.

One can only imagine how painful a calf injury is... especially for an offensive lineman.

During Giovani Bernard's four-yard touchdown run, with 2:11 remaining in the first half, Bengals starting right guard Kevin Zeitler suffered a calf injury. If you watched the replay of that score, it appeared that Zeitler was sealing the entire Falcons defense inside while Bernard snuck behind.

After being helped to the sidelines, he was declared out by the third quarter.

According to Joe Danneman with Fox 19, Zeitler was seen on crutches -- which we believe would be a predictable outcome for a 300-plus man suffering a leg injury.

Crutches could be precautionary for Zeitler, especially if there is any swelling. We'll learn more next week as Cincinnati hosts the Tennessee Titans before their week four bye.

Geoff Hobson with Bengals.com adds that it's "unclear how long he’ll be out, but indications are it’s not a season-ender."
