Several Cincinnati Bengals players enjoyed a rest day Thursday, despite the team preparing for their regular season opener in Baltimore Sunday. Offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth and guard Clint Boling, coming off a significant knee injury last season, were given (what's officially defined as) a veteran rest day. Mike Pollak enjoyed the day off on Wednesday.
Vontaze Burfict, who was full-go Wednesday after a hamstring injury two weeks ago (which resulted during the pre-season game against Arizona), was limited with an "illness". ESPN's Coley Harvey called it a "heat-related" issue -- which makes sense with temperatures in the 90s and the humidity in the 70s on the barometer (yes, I watch the weather too).
Wide receivers Marvin Jones (foot) and James Wright (concussion) haven't practiced this week and aren't expected to play in Baltimore. Jones, most likely, won't be available until after the Sept. 28 bye. Linebacker Sean Porter (hamstring) and running back Rex Burkhead (knee) aren't expected to return for a couple of weeks either.
As for Baltimore, the Ravens are relatively healthy. Every player was a full participant for a second consecutive day.
