In the end, it was expected.
The Cincinnati Bengals announced on Thursday that J.K. Schaffer has returned to the team's practice squad. Schaffer began the season on the team's practice squad, but signed onto the team's 53-man roster on Monday to add a healthy special teams player while Jeromy Miles was dealing with a hamstring.
Schaffer played 22 snaps on special teams in front of his father, brother and a handful of family and friends. Schaffer is a product of LaSalle High School and the University of Cincinnati.
The team waived Schaffer on Wednesday and re-signed Miles to the 53-man roster. He cleared waivers earlier on Thursday.
So in the end, everything is back to normal.
