Breaking down Michael Johnson's contract

The Cincinnati Bengals signed free agent defensive end Michael Johnson to a four-year deal that's loaded with bonuses and incentives. A further breakdown of his contract is starting to emerge.

The Cincinnati Bengals re-signed Michael Johnson to a four-year deal worth $20 million with $6 million being paid in 2015,on top of the guaranteed $7 million that Tampa Bay still owes him. His base salary this season is $1.3 million, along with a $4.5 million signing bonus and a $175,000 roster bonus. According to Spotrac, his name number is $2.6 million in 2015 and he'll see a $2.2 million roster bonus on the fifth day of the new league year.

In addition to his base salaries and roster bonuses, if Michael Johnson reaches 10 sacks in 2015, he'll receive another $4 million bonus over the course of the deal. Johnson will also receive a $12,000 bonus for every game in which he's on the team's gameday roster.
