The Cincinnati Bengals made the rare move to switch up their starting quarterback this year. It’s been a nonissue since 2003, where the Bengals had Jon Kitna, Carson Palmer and Andy Dalton start every game they’ve been healthy.

Ryan Fitzpatrick and AJ McCarron started games in relief of both Palmer and Dalton, respectively, but they were pressed into action because of health issues to each starter. It’s a different story in Week 10 with Ryan Finley.

As the rookie quarterback prepares for his first NFL action, I take a look at his preseason film. Dalton has struggled with pressure this year, but Finley showed some good poise in the preseason. Could this make all the difference for the offense? These are all visible in my video breakdown.

On the audio version of the podcast, I am joined by SB Nation’s own Mark Schofield to discuss the quarterback situation in Cincinnati. Here are some of the topics of conversation:

  • What does he think of Dalton?
  • Is he a quarterback the Bengals could have built around?
  • What does the rest of Dalton’s NFL future look like?
  • What should we expect from Finley?
  • Could he be the answer?
  • How about the NFL Draft? Could one of this year’s top college quarterbacks get the Bengals to the promised land?

All of the film review content will be on SB Nation’s Cincy Jungle podcast channel, along with the other episodes of The Orange and Black Insider. New shows like the “Orange is the New Black” podcast from Ace Boogie and Zim WhoDey and “Sorry If I Spit When I Speak” from Dadio MakDook and Dr. Hodgie Smodgie have also been added to the channel’s audio slate.

The video of my film reviews can be found on the OBI YouTube page and/or Cincy Jungle’s Facebook page. Thanks for watching!
