Bengals safety Taylor Mays out with a shoulder injury

Bengals safety Taylor Mays suffered a shoulder injury as the first half concluded.

With nine seconds remaining in the first half, the New York Jets decided to call it quits and ran Bilal Powell allowing the clock to expire, concluding a dominating first half by the Bengals. However, as the players and coaches evacuated the field for their respective locker rooms, Bengals safety Taylor Mays laid on the field with an apparent injury.

After trainers attended Mays for several minutes, he was escorted off the field with the medical staff (under his own power). The Bengals later announced that Mays had suffered a right shoulder injury and wouldn't return for the game.

Mays joins linebacker Rey Maualuga, who had suffered a concussion earlier in the second quarter and won't return for the game (and may miss next week with the short turnaround).
