Bengals' A.J. Green Has Second-Highest Pro Bowl Votes At Wide Receiver

The Cincinnati Bengals seem to have at least one player as a lock for the Pro Bowl, as A.J Green has the second-highest votes among NFL wide receivers.

The accolades just keep pouring in for Bengals wide receiver, A.J. Green. Even though he had an awful game against the Browns last Sunday with two catches for 7 yards, Green is on pace to break a number of Cincinnati club receiving records, and already broke one the previous week against the Ravens with five straight 100-yard receiving games.

Green is currently the second-leading receiver in the NFL and No.1 in the AFC with 1,020 yards. He is likely to slip a bit with the bye week coming this Sunday, but NFL fans have taken notice. According to the NFL Communications Department, Green has the second-most votes among all wide receivers in the league. He currently has 368,708 fan votes with five weeks remaining.

Who does he trail? Why, Calvin Johnson, of course. "Megatron" is the league's leader in receiving yardage with 1,083 and has also taken a role as a mentor to Green along with Larry Fitzgerald. The three have gotten together for offseason workouts the past couple of offseasons and Green's play exemplifies the hard work done there, as well as when he works out with the club.

The format for the Pro Bowl will also be different this year. Hall of Fame players Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders will be team captains and pick their respective teams amongst the the top vote-getters at each position. Conference won't matter, as they are just going to pick the best of the best that is available.
