DeflateGate: NFL and Patriots may have found scapegoat

New, comments

The NFL and Patriots just want to move past DeflateGate so the Super Bowl can become the focus.

Stew Milne-USA TODAY Sports

As the NFL continues its investigation of the New England Patriots and DefleteGate, the league appears to have found their potential scapegoat for the whole situation.

According to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, the league has "zeroed in on a locker room attendant" associated with the Patriots, of whom handled the balls that were found to be deflated during the AFC Championship.

Glazer adds that the attendant "allegedly took balls from officials locker room to another area on way to field." The NFL has interviewed him and have yet to determine if he actually deflated the balls, but supposedly have videotapes of him carrying the balls that were eventually deflated.

This looks like nothing more than a scapegoat in order for the NFL and Patriots to use in order to move past DeflateGate with no one's image being tarnished, even though it will be in the public eye. Either way, everyone wants this to be over so the Super Bowl can become the national focus.
