SB Nation's Mocking the Draft has generally been pretty loyal to the concept that Cincinnati will select a cornerback, evident here, here, here, here, here, and here. Names like Oklahoma State's Justin GIlbert, TCU's Jason Verrett, Michigan State's Darqueze Dennard, and Ohio State's Bradley Roby.
In their latest, they have the Bengals selecting Dennard at No. 24.
The Bengals have a lot of big names at cornerback, but players like Terence Newman and Adam Joens are all getting up there in years. Dennard is the most physical cornerback at the line of scrimmage in the draft this year. He's a master at messing up a receiver's timing and plays faster than his 40 time will suggest.
We could talk about all of the reasons for the team selecting cornerback, but I'm sure we've pounded the topic enough for people to recall the argument in their sleep. However, as has been pointed out, cornerback isn't absolute either.
