2015 Mock Draft: Bengals select Washington OLB Shaq Thompson

The Cincinnati Bengals have a need in many areas of their squad this season. There are positions that require new starters and other spots that desperately needs depth. Linebacker is one.

While one CBS Sports mock draft has the Bengals going with a wide receiver in the first round, another goes with the more traditional route. Dane Brugler has the Bengals selecting Washington outside linebacker Shaq Thompson.

The Bengals' linebackers were not a strength in 2014 and with often-injured Rey Maualuga set for free agency, Cincinnati could find linebacker help with this pick. Thompson is an intriguing athlete who has a knack for creating turnovers.

I'm alright with new linebackers. I'm also having a hard time seeing Cincinnati going with first-round backer, and there's a strong belief that Rey Maualuga will return in 2015. That said, the linebacker position could use an infusion of talent. Actually, they just need players who won't get hurt.
