Last week, defensive end Carlos Dunlap, linebacker James Harrison and offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth were undergoing concussion protocols after a physical contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers -- and a physical practice on Wednesday for Whitworth. All three were reportedly cleared and were full participants during Friday's practice. However Harrison didn't play this weekend against the Minnesota Vikings.
It's a new week now and we have a new trio.
According to multiple reporters on the Bengals beat, tight end Alex Smith, linebacker Vontaze Burfict and cornerback Onterio McCalebb are undergoing concussion protocols on Monday.
Burfict sustained his in the fourth quarter against the Minnesota Vikings, roughly the same quarter that Smith was believed to have had his. We can only assume that McCalebb suffered his during practice last week. Considering that he's on the practice squad and not the 53-man roster, he won't show up on the team's practice and injury reports so information is relatively unavailable there.
