<p>Before suffering his original calf injury in Week 2, Kevin Zeitler was one of the Bengals highest-rated players on Pro Football Focus. </p> <p>The <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.cincyjungle.com/">Bengals</a> are once again banged-up as they get set to hit the field, though with their matchup with Cleveland coming on short rest, Cincinnati will be down more starters than normal.</p>
<p>Starting right tackle <span>Andre Smith</span> is among a handful of key players set to sit out vs. the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.dawgsbynature.com/">Browns</a>, but the good news is right guard <span>Kevin Zeitler</span> will be making his return. Zeitler, listed as "probable" on the final injury report, has missed four games this year while dealing with a lingering calf issue, but he's set to play this week after missing Week 9 vs. the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.bigcatcountry.com/">Jaguars</a>.</p>
<p>Before suffering the original calf injury in Week 2, Zeitler was one of the team's highest-rated players on Pro Football Focus. In fact, his 2.6 pass-blocking rating is still the third best of any Bengal this year. <p>Hopefully, Zeitler can return and stay healthy for the remainder of the season, though that seems to be asking a lot with any play, with the number of injuries the Bengals have suffered thus far.</p>

<p>Cornerback Darqueze Dennard was also back at Bengals practice on Monday. </p> <p><span>The <a href="https://www.cincyjungle.com/" class="sbn-auto-link">Bengals</a> escaped Sunday's win over the <a href="https://www.bigcatcountry.com/" class="sbn-auto-link">Jaguars</a> without any serious injuries, but starting cornerback <span>Leon Hall</span> may not be ready for the <a href="https://www.dawgsbynature.com/" class="sbn-auto-link">Browns</a> on Thursday Night Football after suffering a concussion. </span></p>
<p>Hall was not present at Bengals practice Monday, as he is now undergoing the league's mandated policy for dealing with concussions. <span>He got hit in the head late in the game in a collision with safety George Iloka. It was called a head injury initially, </span><span>but</span><span> he's now undergoing the NFL's concussion </span><span>protocol</span><span>.</span></p>
<p><span>With just four days between Sunday's game and Thursday's showdown with Cleveland, the short turnaround will probably force Hall to sit this one out.</span></p>
<p>As for starting right guard <span>Kevin Zeitler</span>, he and linebacker <span>Rey Maualuga</span> were doing conditioning work Monday. The odds of them playing Thursday are slim, but this is a nice sign that they are close to returning.</p>
<p>Cornerback Darqueze Dennard was also back at practice Monday. It's possible he gets an extensive amount of snaps if he's able to play Thursday with Hall possibly being out.</p>

<p>The Bengals may be down three offensive starters vs. the Jaguars. </p> <p>The <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.cincyjungle.com/">Bengals</a> were back on the field Thursday, and All-Pro receiver <span>A.J. Green</span> was suited up and participating. After being limited Wednesday, Green reportedly had no setbacks in his recovery from an injured toe that's plagued him for two months now.</p>

<p>In case you missed it, Bernard is expected to miss Sunday, so it came as no surprise he didn't practice Thursday. There's speculation <a href="http://www.cincyjungle.com/2014/10/30/7132301/giovani-bernard-jaguars-bengals-cedric-peerman" target="_blank">Cedric Peerman is set to get more touches if Gio is out</a>, but Butch Hobson thinks <span>Rex Burkhead</span> could be the one to get more run.</p>

<p>In addition to Green and Bernard being held out, right guard <span>Kevin Zeitler</span> also missed practice while he continues to deal with a calf injury. He re-injured the same calf that was injured in a Week 2 win over the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/atlanta-falcons">Atlanta Falcons</a>. If he's unable to go, <span>Mike Pollak</span> will once again get the start. Funny how things work out, as Pollak re-signed with Cincy this offseason in hopes of winning the starting center job, and now, with Zeitler's injury, he has been a starting guard for much of this year.</p>
<p>As for others not practicing, <span>Geno Atkins</span> and <span>Darqueze Dennard</span>, though Atkins is getting more of a rest day.</p>

<p>Bengals starting guard Kevin Zeitler, who missed three games this year with a calf injury, appears to have reinjured the same calf. </p> <p>Cincinnati Bengals offensive guard Kevin Zeitler appears to have re-injured his calf on Sunday.</p>
<p>Zeitler, who has missed three games this season after suffering a calf injury against the Atlanta Falcons, left in the second half on Sunday. He was replaced by Pollak.</p>
<p>The team, announcing the injury, said he was doubtful to return.</p>
<p>Zeitler's first game back was last week against the Indianapolis Colts, where he scored the best Pro Football Focus grade on offense (+1.2) with positive grades in pass protection (allowing one hurry) and run blocking -- he and Boling rated as the team's best run blockers.</p>

<p>The good news is starting right guard, Kevin Zeitler was back on the field for the Bengals. </p> <p>The <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.cincyjungle.com/">Bengals</a> were back on the practice field Wednesday in preparation for their Week 7 clash with the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.stampedeblue.com/">Colts</a>. As expected, All-Pro receiver <span>A.J. Green</span> was not on the field while he continues to battle a toe injury. The belief is that he won't practice until seeing another football specialist on Friday, and it's unlikely he plays Sunday at Indianapolis.</p>
<p>In addition to Green, starting linebackers <span>Rey Maualuga</span> and <span>Emmanuel Lamur</span> were also held out of practice Wednesday. There was speculation that Maualuga's hamstring injury suffered vs. the <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.catscratchreader.com/">Panthers</a> could lead to him being placed on I.R.</p>
<p>It's still possible that happens, though it looks like the team may be willing to wait and see if he can return soon enough to warrant keeping him on the roster.</p>
<p>Regardless, Maualuga isn't expected to play Sunday, leaving <span>Vincent Rey</span> to start in his place vs. the Colts. If Lamur also is held out, that could mean <span>Jayson DiManche</span> starts in his place.</p>
<p>The good news was starting right guard Kevin Zeitler was back on the field. He's looking to make his return this week after missing the past three games due to a calf injury. There is hope he'll be able to return by the time Cincinnati hosts the Ravens in week 8.</p>
<p><span><span>Wallace Gilberry</span> and <span>Brandon Thompson</span> were also held out Wednesday. Gilberry has stitches on his face following a facial laceration during Sunday's tie with Caroline. As for Thompson, his knee injury continues to sideline him, and there's no certainty when he'll return to practice. </span></p>

<p>A.J. Green was spotted in a walking boot at Friday's Bengals practice. According to ESPN, he's been officially declared out against the Panthers, but the Bengals are listing him as "questionable". </p> <p><b>UPDATE</b></p>
<p>The final injury report has A.J. Green listed as "questionable" to play Sunday vs. the Panthers, which technically means there's a 50/50 chance he plays. Though we shouldn't get our hopes up, there was news that the injury isn't serious, and rest is all Green needs for his injured toe to heal.</p>

<p>The Bengals still haven't provided an update on the status of wide receiver A.J. Green, but there was another clear sign Friday that he won't be playing Sunday vs. the Panthers.</p>
<p>Following the re-aggravation of his toe injury on Wednesday, Green was spotted in a walking boot at Friday's practice, which he was not part of, signaling that he won't play Sunday.</p>

<p>We all know Green is out Sunday. The only question is whether or not he'll get the "questionable" designation on the final injury report to keep Carolina guessing and possibly make them prepare to face him.</p>
<p>The good news is, the boot could just be precautionary, and there's been no reports of the toe being injured to the point he'll be lost for a significant stretch of the season.</p>
<p>Green theoretically could practice once next week and be healthy enough to play at Indianapolis vs. the Colts.</p>

<p>Tyler Eifert can resume practicing with the team soon, and it looks like he could be ready to hit the ground running when he's able to. </p> <p>The Bengals got bad news, more bad news, even more bad news, and some good news on Friday.</p>
<p>The bad news is <a target="_blank" href="http://www.cincyjungle.com/2014/10/10/6956985/a-j-green-walking-boot-bengals-practice-doctors-visit">A.J. Green is in a walking boot and won't play Sunday vs. the Carolina Panthers</a>.</p>
<p>The "more bad news" is fellow starting receiver Marvin Jones was also out and also won't play Sunday. He's missed almost 2.5 months of football activities now, and we may never see Jones at his best this year, even when he does return.</p>
<p>The "even more bad news" is starting guard Kevin Zeitler also missed Friday. Mike Pollak is a solid starter in his absence, and he'll get the nod Sunday.</p>
<p>The good news (hallelujah) is Zeitler and starting tight end Tyler Eifert was on the sidelines doing conditioning work Friday, signaling that both are close to being able to resume practicing. Zeitler managed to practice Wednesday in a limited capacity. He could return and start next week vs. the Colts.</p>
<p>As for Eifert, who is on the I.R.-Recall list, he can resume practicing with the team soon, and it looks like he could be ready to hit the ground running when he's able to do so. <span>Eifert originally told reporters that to his knowledge, he didn't suffer any other structural damage around his dislocated elbow, and that he believes he'll be fully healed by Nov. 6, when the Bengals host the Browns on Thursday Night Football.</span></p>
