A.J. Green paid more than $5,000 for one lucky fan to get a game-used football.

It's not often you see a Bengals offensive player fined, but that happened this week for something rather trivial.

Wide receiver A.J. Green has been fined $5,787 for throwing a football into the stands during Sunday's 27-24 win over the Seahawks, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. The play in question happened in the first quarter on the Bengals' second offensive series.

On the play, Green beat several Seahawks defenders for deep pass that he took to the house for a 72-yard touchdown. As Green ran into the endzone, he chucked the ball into the stands, which is illegal in the NFL.

Making matters worse for Green is the play didn't even count, as Andrew Whitworth was flagged for holding on the play, negating Green's score. I'm sure Green will take solace in knowing his team won Sunday, not to mention he just inked a four-year, $60-million extension this offseason. It's worth noting that had Green simply handed the ball to a fan in the stands, he would not have been fined, just like the Jermaine Gresham/Saints fiasco last year.

The money collected from fined players does go to charity, so at least the money will go to a good cause.

As expected, Michael Bennett is giving up a chunk of money for his cheap shot on Andy Dalton during Sunday's thriller between the Bengals and Seahawks.

The Bengals got the better of Michael Bennett and the Seahawks this past week on the field, and Bennett is getting hit hard off-the-field as well.

The NFL has fined Bennett $20,000 for an illegal hit on Andy Dalton during his team's 27-24 loss in Cincinnati, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio. It's the third time Bennett has been fined this year after he got in a fight during Seattle's game against the Packers in Week 2. He was also fined during the preseason for an illegal hit on Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith.

It was already made clear going into Sunday that Bennett wasn't a fan of Dalton after making fun of him for blowing games for the Bengals during a summer appearance on the NFL Network. Bennett took it another step Sunday after Dalton threw a red-zone interception near the end of the first half.

The hit in question came after safety Earl Thomas picked off Dalton at the goal line and returned it down to the Cincinnati 31-yard line. During the return, Bennett went after Dalton and ended up blindsiding him in the back, a penalty which he was flagged for and which negated the 68-yard return.

Here it is:

What made it worse for Bennett was that he struck Dalton in the head as he was on the ground after blocking him in the back. It was simply uncalled for after Thomas was already well down the field when Bennett started pushing Dalton into the ground. The league takes a very hard stance against any play who takes unnecessary hits on quarterbacks, so it's not surprising at all to see this fine.

Oh, and let's not forget the Bengals won as Dalton led them to a comeback win, including a rushing touchdown of his own which Bennett just so happened to have a great up-close view for. So yeah, Bennett may want to reconsider his views on Dalton, among other things.

This week, the Bengals are traveling to Buffalo, which means that Marvin Lewis will get to coach against an old friend.

With all of the success that the Bengals have been having, Marvin Lewis has gotten exceedingly bored at press conferences. This week, you could see a little sparkle in his eye when the topic of facing his old friend Rex Ryan was brought up. While he still didn't have much to get excited about, a lot of what he did say has become a little clearer than usual. There may be a little cockiness in Marvin Lewis these days. Or maybe he's just excited to see Rex. Either way, we make this week's press conference, discussing Sunday's game a little easier to understand.

Opening Comments …

Last year they finished second in the AFC East. They had a strong season, and they're off to a pretty good start this year. Supposedly, they will be without the quarterback this week, the starting quarterback that they had chosen, so we'll see what that brings."

The only compliments I have for them is that they were decent last year. They had a different coach and different players last year, so that means basically nothing.

Obviously Tyrod Taylor's foot speed is a little bit of a difference. Both are good athletes.
We take a look at the best Bengals plays in their win against the Seahawks and try to find the biggest of the afternoon. Cast your vote and sound off on your for for Week 5!

The Cincinnati Bengals shot out of the gates against the Seahawks on their first drive, but other big plays didn't occur until the end of the game. During the frenzied comeback, big plays came from all three phases, offense, defense and special teams to assist the club in getting to 5-0. Take a look at our top play nominees and cast your vote!

Tyler Eifert's 25-Yard Catch In Fourth Quarter:

The Bengals were putting together a huge comeback against a tough Seattle team, but were down three points as time was winding down. Then, Andy Dalton hit Tyler Eifert for a spectacular 25-yard play to help get the team into field goal position to tie the game. Mike Nugent nailed the field goal to send the game into overtime.

Adam Jones' Late Punt Return:

Things looked bleak toward the end of the third quarter and beginning of the fourth. Cincinnati was down 24-7 and needed points quickly. Jones was put in the backfield to field a punt and he didn't disappoint. The big return spurred a second touchdown to Eifert and helped to cut Seattle's lead to 24-14.

Andy Dalton's Fourth Quarter Rushing Touchdown:

Cincinnati was making a game of it late in the fourth quarter and were attempting to really cut into the Seahawks' lead late. Dalton initially lined up in the shotgun, but saw something change in Seattle's defensive formation. He called an audible and sprang into the end zone to bring the game within three points with a five yard touchdown.

Mike Nugent's Game-Winning Field Goal In Overtime:

After nailing a big kick to send the game into overtime, Nugent lined up for a big one for the win. It was a nerve wracking moment for a guy who had missed a couple of kicks on the year, but in truly dramatic fashion, Nugent clanked one off the left upright and banked it in for the win.

In this weekly feature, we look at the Bengals players whose contributions may have gone overlooked in the team's big win over the Seahawks. Cast your vote and sound off on your winner!

The game of football is full of cliches--both from those associated with teams and about the game itself. One that always seems to ring true surrounds the adage that the game is truly a team effort. While we have already gone through our MVP nominees, we have yet to honor the Week 5 behind-the-scenes contributors.

Cast your vote for the "Unsung Hero of the Week" and sound off on the selection in the comments!

A.J. Green, WR: The team's go-to receiver started off red-hot, but began to cool down later in the game once Seattle made the rare decision to make Richard Sherman a mobile defender. Still, Green did make a couple of plays down the stretch and finished with six catches for 78 yards.

Mohamed Sanu, WR: Though he finished as just the third-leading receiver of the day, Sanu still had five catches for 69 yards. Four of the five catches were in the fourth quarter and came at a time when the Bengals needed them the most. Though Green, Tyler Eifert and Marvin Jones have been getting more fanfare, Sanu has been a great complementary player this season.

Marvin Jones, WR: Call this the wide receiver week for our UHOTW. Jones had five catches for 61 yards, including a big 44-yarder on the opening drive for a touchdown. He also had a couple of plays late in the game during the frenzied comeback.

Kevin Huber, P: Aside from some poor kickoff returns from Brandon Tate, it was a banner afternoon from Cincinnati's special teams unit. Mike Nugent was an MVP nominee, but Huber was clutch as well, given that three of his six punts landed inside Seattle's 20-yard line. Two were pinned inside the five as well, making life difficult for Russell Wilson.

Darqueze Dennard, CB: While the second year corner has yet to make a big impact on defense, he is still making his mark on special teams. Aside from two tackles on the day, Dennard was the one who downed Huber's punts inside the five on two occasions.

Geno Atkins, DT: The comeback is in full effect with Atkins, who is having an excellent start to the 2015 season. While Carlos Dunlap had the bigger statistical day, Atkins consistently pushed the pocket and again had a sack on the day. His fourth in 2015 surpasses his entire total from 2014.

Rey Maualuga, LB: The defense finally clamped down on things to ignite the comeback and Maualuga made quite a few plays in the span. While the defense had trouble stopping Thomas Rawls on the afternoon, the undrafted back only had 18 rushing yards in the fourth quarter and overtime. Maualuga helped to lead the charge and had eight tackles on the afternoon.

The Bengals impressive win may not have had much to do with the rookies interaction, but the experience of being a part of a game like that is a lesson very few players ever get.

Another week and another victory. Another gut-check. Another shot at putting away the demons. The Bengals cleared a historic hurdle on Sunday defeating the NFC Champion Seahawks by throwing out 20 unanswered points. It's not often that the Bengals have the gauntlet thrust upon them and answer. But there is a change in the air and swagger that was previously unseen with this Bengals team.

There is so much chemistry on the field and so much confidence being bred that barring injuries, the Bengals rookies are going to have to wait in the wings, learn and take in everything surrounding them. It may benefit them even more in the long run.

Jake Fisher - Stock Even

Fisher continues getting occasional snaps on the offensive line. He is in the rotation despite it only being around 10 percent of the time. Fisher is an investment for the future. We will see what happens as the season progresses and if the offensive line struggles, as they did against Seattle, maybe Fisher will see more time. But odds are the line was simply shocked by a better than advertised defense and even then, they weren't that bad, just worse than they've been. It seemed that perhaps Jackson was going to throw Fisher out there as another pass catcher as he tinkered away with some unusual formations, but alas we didn't get to see the big man run.

Josh Shaw - Stock Even

The majority of the time was logged on special teams for Shaw. He did manage to get in for two snaps on the day on defense, but after a shaky opening, the secondary and defense as a whole combined in the second half to shut down the squirrely Russell Wilson and Co. Despite getting in on some snaps Shaw appears to have a long way to go before getting more than a few snaps per game on defense.

P.J. Dawson - Stock Even

A lack of tackling once again hampered the Bengals' defense and some ho-hum play by the linebackers continued for the fifth straight week. Many fans believe Dawson would be a burst of life to an average mid-field, but his time has yet to arrive. Without an injury, Dawson will continue to stand on the sidelines during regular formations. He managed a tackle on special teams, but he's just going to have to bide his time and learn all he can before he's thrown to the wolves.

Tyler Kroft - Stock Even

Kroft continues to be used as a primary blocking tight-end. Logging seven snaps on offense and spelling Eifert is his primary duty now, but there is just no real room on offense for Kroft. The Bengals have said in the past that they like what Kroft did in college and what he's done in practice; he manages to get playing time and if you can say anything about this rookie class, it's that just getting time on the field is an accomplishment.

Derron Smith - Stock Even

All of Derron Smith's time was logged on special teams and even then it was limited. A different week and the same story; Smith isn't going to crack the defensive lineup unless there is an injury to the defense. Reggie Nelson continues to play well and Smith will only be a competent body

INACTIVES

Mario Alford, Marcus Hardison, C.J. Uzomah all remain inactive. It seems highly unlikely Alford will see time this season as the receiver threats and special teams units are alive and making plays. It would be interesting to see how he could contribute to the return game, but the Bengals don't seem willing to try him out there, yet. Hardison is the odd man out on a defensive line that is playing above expectations, he also suffered a knee injury which stunted his ability to get on the field for the first few weeks. While Uzomah sits behind Eifert, Hewitt, and Kroft in the depth chart, it's unlikely he'll be hitting the field this year.

After making two huge kicks to complete the Bengals' incredible comeback against the Seahawks on Sunday, Mike Nugent has won the Special Teams Player of the Week honor for Week 5.

On the edge of our seats, we sat willing the ball being kicked from Mike Nugent's foot to sail between the goal posts, not just once, but twice on Sunday afternoon.

Of the final two kicks he made, it's arguable the first (at the end of regulation) was the biggest. With time running out against a ticking game clock, Nugent's perfect kick caused a tie score as regulation ended. Nugent showed ice in his veins as he split the uprights and gave the collective Bengals fandom a sigh of relief. Minutes later, he would do it again.

For his game-winning kicks, Nugent has been awarded the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. This is the second time Nugent has won this award and we can all agree it was well deserved. On top of this honor, Nugent has been nominated for the Clutch Performer of the Week, for which you can vote for him to win.

Nugent's second kick, which gave the Bengals the win was so big, famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson sent out a Tweet about how the rotation of the earth helped the kick find the inside of the post.

Carlos Dunlap is tied for the NFL lead with 5 sacks. He is creating problems for teams on a defensive line that is playing very well as a unit.

Carlos Dunlap needs 3.5 sacks to move into fourth place on the Bengals all time sack leader list. There is reason to believe he will easily be there this year. Five weeks into the NFL season, Dunlap has 5 sacks. This alone is a strong indicator he is playing good football, but doesn't tell the whole story. Dunlap is becoming a major problem for opposing offenses.

"He's done a good job," Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said on Monday of Dunlap's performance against the Seahawks. "He did a good job of rushing yesterday and did a good job throughout the day on the line of scrimmage. The ability to chase a quarterback down like that and the length of the outside guys was really helpful. That's why we have guys like that. He's doing a good job of working at it, and continues to grow as a player."

That's Marvin speak for this guy is crushing it. Rightfully so, Dunlap was a big a part of the Bengals' comeback win on Sunday, maybe more so than any other player in stripes. He directly had a hand in ending each of Seattle's last four drives. If the Seahawks had extended any one of those, the door would have shut on Cincy's incredible win.

On the Seahawks' first possession after being up 17 points, Dunlap destroyed Garry Gilliam to get to Russell Wilson for the drive killing sack.

Seattle's second attempt ended when Dunlap beat Gilliam again to knock down Wilson as he delivered a poorly thrown ball to Jermaine Kearse.

The third attempt ended when Dunlap again was a major disruption. Seattle slid extra blocking to keep Dunlap out of the play to pave way for running back Thomas Rawls. This was a failed attempt to block Dunlap and he got free to pressure Wilson into another poorly thrown ball.

The last chance the Seahawks had to hold off the Bengals was again, destroyed by Dunlap. Instead of crashing the outside like he had been doing, he stunted inside and jumped right into Wilson's passing lane. This caused the quarterback to hold the ball and run directly into Geno Atkins' arms. Had Atkins not been there to make the play, Dunlap would have brought Wilson down himself.
