In the sunny state of California, the Bengals have the opportunity to not only almost solidify their division win, but they can close the door on another conference opponents hopes.
The Bengals take on the Chargers and I thought it once again appropriate to turn it over to our resident expert TSB. (Tecmo Super Bowl). Here is how the game went down:
The Chargers start with the ball and are quickly shut down by Carols Dunlap and the Bengals defense. The Chargers are forced to punt.
On the return, Marvin Jones coughs up the ball and the Chargers recover.
Philip Rivers finds Malcom Floyd for a huge gain. However, the ball once again hits the ground and this time the Bengals land on it for the turnover.
After a Manti Teo Andy Dalton finds A.J Green for a huge gain and the Bengals are in field goal range.
At the end of one the game is still scoreless.
The Bengals are stopped on third down and are forced to a field goal try.
The Chargers again fumble the ball away and the Bengals return it to the San Diego side of the field.
The San Diego defense plays tough and again the Bengals are forced to a field goal try.
With the miss, the Chargers are able to get into range for a field goal of their own. So as time runs out they attempt a kick.
The kick bounces off the upright and misses. At the half, the Bengals lead 3 - 0.
The Bengals can not move the ball and are forced to punt.
The Chargers take advantage through the air and finally get on the board on a Vincent Brown touchdown.
On the kickoff return, the Bengals lose Marvin Jones to injury.
The Bengals have a successful drive and get Giovani Bernard into the end zone for the score.
The Bengals carry a 10 - 7 lead into just under a minute and a half remaining in the 4th quarter and the Chargers have the ball with one more chance to score. A big sack from Michael Johnson pins the Chargers back to 4th and 22 with 18 seconds left on the clock.
Philip Rivers finds Vincent Brown wide open for the touchdown with double zeros left on the clock, The Chargers win with a last second heave of the football.
A tough loss on the road for the Bengals.
