Bruce Kluckhohn-US PRESSWIRE

The Cincinnati Bengals signed punter Shawn Powell on Tuesday after Kevin Huber was placed on Injured Reserve from an illegal hit during Sunday Night's 30-20 loss to the Steelers. The Bengals actually held a competition with five punters that Powell won.

According to Joe Reedy with the Cincinnati Enquirer, the other tryouts on Tuesday included punters T.J. Conley, Chris Kluwe, Drew Butler and Robert Malone.

Conley is a second-year player who hasn't punted during a regular season since '11 -- he was on the preseason roster with the New York Jets in '13. Butler punted with the Pittsburgh Steelers '12 but was released in September. Malone is a journeyman with stops in Tampa Bay, Detroit and New York while Chris Kluwe was released by the Vikings and Oakland in May and September respectively.
